Altogether Perfect aims for perfection

Less than a year since its launch, the Altogether Perfect marketing group has been handpicked for two major awards.

The group, which works to attract more business events to Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens, has been nominated by umbrella industry body, Meetings and Events Australia (MEA).

Established in June, 2014, Altogether Perfect is a State finalist for the award as the best regional destination marketing organisation in NSW as part of the MEA’s 2014 Industry Awards, while the Newcastle Convention Bureau’s Business Events and Conventions Developer, Georgia Lazzari – one of three leaders of Altogether Perfect – has been nominated as Business Development Person of the Year.

The MEA’s NSW Awards will be announced at a gala dinner at the Ivy Ballroom in Sydney on March 25, with winners then passing Go and progressing to the national awards on May 26.

Altogether Perfect is a collaborative marketing project promoting Newcastle, Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley as venues for conferences and other business events.

Backed by the Newcastle Convention Bureau, Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association and Destination Port Stephens and supported by industry operators, the joint team attends trade fairs and sales missions and host visits to the region by key conference organisers and media to build the appeal of the Hunter region as a top dog business tourism destination.

Lazzari said she was honoured that both herself and Altogether Perfect had been nominated for two MEA awards so soon after the launch.

“I and the hard-working team at Altogether Perfect are very passionate about the many economic, educational and social benefits business events can bring to the three regions we represent and it’s incredibly satisfying to know that our efforts have been recognised in such a short period of time,” she said.

“Altogether Perfect celebrates and promotes the combined attributes of the Greater Hunter region which offers first class city, country and coast experiences for the business traveller. Our aim is to position Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens as the leading regional destinations for business events in NSW.”

The Altogether Perfect campaign received funding through the Regional Visitor Economy Fund (RVEF) which is managed and administered by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
