New appoint to direct Four Points conventions

Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Darling Harbour has appointed Marjolein Chandler as director of Catering and Conventions to mark the next phase in the hotel’s growth strategy.

Currently undergoing a $200 million redevelopment, the hotel said team recruitment is well underway in the lead up to its May 2016 opening. Marjolein Chandler[1]

In her role, Marjolein will be responsible for the management of all conventions, meetings and events taking place across the property, from initial contact to completion, ensuring superior management and services, and client satisfaction.

The hotel is set to boast new convention facilities to will include 4,800 sqm of new conference, meeting and event space, comprising a total of 23 rooms available for both large and intimate occasions.

Moving forwards, Marjolein will also oversee the implementation of the hotel’s new event strategy to ensure the hotel’s facilities and services are managed efficiently.

“The redevelopment is going to be an amazing addition to the conference and event space in the heart of Sydney,” Marjolein said.

Marjolein brings with her 23 years of experience working in conference and event sales and event management for Hilton Hotel in both London and Sydney, and was most recently director of Catering Sales and Conference Services at Four Seasons Hotel Sydney.

The new look hotel will also include an additional third tower, adding 222 additional rooms to bring the total number to 905.
