New conference centre for Brisbane

Brisbane has welcomed a new conference centre to its business events offering with the launch of the Hotel Grand Chancellor’s multi-million dollar facility last week.

The conference centre includes more than 1000 square metres of floor space and 11 function rooms over two levels. “State-of-the-art” audio visual equipment has been installed in each room and will be managed by Scene Change.

Parts of the hotel were also overhauled as part of the construction, with the hotel’s lobby expanded and 36 new rooms put in, taking its tally to 230 overall.

“We are excited to become the venue of choice for conferencing and events in Brisbane,” Queensland area general manager Peter Yared said.

The new facility was opened with a party attended by more than 350 people, with entertainment including an award-winning beat boxer, fire twirlers and acrobatic acts.
