Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain is about to unveil a spacious multi purpose Qing You Hall. This addition occupies an expansive 420 square meters and with a stunning backdrop of the sublime Qing Cheng Mountain with the resort’s 2.5 acres organic garden in the foreground.

Designed for maximum flexibility, the pillar-free ballroom can be divided into three separate spaces, ideal for meetings and smaller gatherings or breakout areas. The Qing You Hall is the perfect venue for a wedding reception, gala dinners, cocktails and receptions and meetings.

AUSTRALIA’S BUSINESS EVENTS ON SHOW IN NEW ZEALAND

Around 100 leading New Zealand business event planners and corporate clients gathered in Auckland on 29 June for a special event to learn more about Australia’s capabilities as a business events and incentive travel destination.

Organised by Tourism Australia’s specialist unit, Business Events Australia, the event highlighted Australia’s current offering for corporate meetings and incentives in its largest international market for business events.

Tourism Australia Country Manager for New Zealand, Jenny Aitken said events such as this help strengthen the connection with New Zealand organisers who arrange corporate meetings and incentives.

 

Staging Connections produces Hollywood inspired gala

Staging Connections has produced a successful Hollywood inspired gala for Shangri-La hotel at Sydney’s Hotel Of The Year Awards, 

The Hollywood theme dictated all styling choices, with black table cloths teamed with gold satin tie back chair covers, and gold candleholders chosen as the table centrepieces overflowing with red orchids. Curved black lampstand chandeliers dripping with black crystals lined the lobby and decorative panels sat on either side of the ballroom to further emphasise the ‘tinsel town’ theme.

Glenn Baines, Venue Service Manager NSW for Staging Connections said, “The event was a complete success and was another memorable event for the Staging Connections team. The Hollywood theme accentuated the excitement of attendees and everyone enjoyed being immersed in the lively atmosphere.”

 

Cairns business events team hones industry skills

Business events operators in Cairns & Great Barrier Reef have been given the tools to succeed in the highly competitive industry after attending a professional development day last week. Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef Director Rosie Douglas said 42 members had attended the workshop to gain insight into the corporate, incentive and association segments of the industry.

“Facilitated by Nigel Collin, acclaimed business speaker, innovation and leadership expert and author of The Game of Inches, the workshop provided participants with practical tools to assist them in effectively managing events from the sales and enquiry stage through to execution,” she said.

This event provided valuable insight for venues and industry suppliers who are looking to win more events.

Urban Events Venues & Catering brings catering to igloos this winter

Urban Events Venues & Catering will be the sole food and beverage partner for the igloo event spaces at Sydney’s Winter Festival 2016.

Ideal for corporate functions or private occasions, all five igloos are available for exclusive hire (up to 200 guests, with the option to extend to 500), or as individual igloos (between 10 and 30 guests). Two and three-hour chilled and warm canapé packages are also available. Two to three-hour drinks packages, including mulled wine and warm cider to chase off the winter chills, are another aspect of these igloo packs.

Dougal will captivate audiences with his studies on how tourism business can capitalise on these new trends.
