What we want in 2015: Travel Managers

The effective use of data to create predictive analyses and set benchmarks to ensure travel programmes are meeting company goals were high on the agenda for travel managers this year, according to a CWT report, Supply Management reports.

The study took into account more than 1100 travel managers’ feedback to rate the importance of 12 priorities and the impact of 11 market trends on their schemes.

A high proportion (63%) of travel managers said better data visibility would assist in creating tailored travel programmes for specific business objectives, using ‘big data’ to analyse and plot traveller behaviour, according to the report.

Not far behind gaining 62% of votes on the list of priorities was the ability to track fares and a rebooking solution, while 60% said promoting mobile apps to increase efficiency of travellers would be important to be implemented this year.

The move follows trends in general stating the rise in mobile technology and data security would be high on the list of priorities for 2015.
